The MicroChurch Model

A microchurch is the gathering of Christ’s church in smaller, everyday environments like a living room, coffee shop, or kitchen table.

We gather around the things the church has always gathered around: prayer, scripture, hospitality, and mission.

Our model comes from the earliest description of the church found at the end of chapter 2 of the book of Acts: “With one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Traditional church models can leave little margin to actually make disciples of our neighbors, friends and co-workers who are far from God. Instead of gathering people to a church building, we train, send, and support people in making disciples where they live and work, while at the same time creating margin by removing many of the obligations producing weekly Sunday services. To accomplish this, we offer the following:

Gospel Communities | We meet weekly on Sunday evenings to to grow individually and as a family. Our heart is to saturate Columbus with missional church families.

Discovery Groups | These are small groups of 3-12 that meet two to four times each month with the goal of making disciple-makers.
